Anna, a 68 year old lady, "Doctor, I have sometime
trouble with my right knee, when walking".
Doctor, "I see. Maybe you are suffering from arthritis, it's
a common problem at your age".
Anna, "What can we do?"
Doctor, "Don't worry, I'll give you a prescription for pain
relief".
Anna, "Excuse me, but what's the arthritis cause"?
Doctor, "Unfortunately we don't exactly know the real cause
of this disease in most of the cases, but don't worry".

Anna, "Excuse me, but what's the arthritis cause?"
Doctor, "In time the cartilage covering the bone final parts
consumes and degenerates".
Anna, "How does it happen?"
Doctor, "There are some main factors, I'll try to explain
you briefly.
- 1. Unlike other carnivorous beings, man doesn't have, in his
liver, the allontoin enzyme that changes the uric acid into a
harmless liquid, eliminable with urine. As he eats too many
proteins (i.e. meat, fish, eggs, cheese, salami) or as his
kidneys don't work rightly, the uric acid produced during the
digestion is distributed all over his body and it affects
cartilages badly.
- 2. Most of the water we drink contains a sediment called
calcium carbonate and in the long run it will reach our articular
cartilages, destroying them.
- 3. Articulations have a lubricating liquid that dicreases day
after day because of our bad habit of drinking water during
meals. This habit causes difficulties in digesting fats. Besides
not many people use Omega 3 (a type of good fat such as cod liver oil).
-
These are the main causes of arthritis".
Anna, "I see, thanks, Doctor, have a nice day!"
